LAUREN BURRELL

Lauren Burrell is the founder and creative director of Thrive Creative Studios, a Black-owned creative studio based in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in Amarillo, graduated from Tascosa High School, and earned a degree in computer science from Prairie View A&M University before starting her career at IBM. She started Thrive because she didn't see enough people who looked like her leading the rooms that matter in the creative industry. Today she builds custom-coded websites, works on WordPress, Wix and Squarespace sites, and creates brand identities and social media for small businesses in Dallas–Fort Worth, Amarillo and beyond. Her writing covers the same work: how small businesses can look as polished as the big names, without a big-agency budget.
